After the 9/11 attacks in late 2001, my wife Amy and I decided to redirect our retirement funds into starting a business. We began buying and restoring vintage bikes and selling them online through our newly created company, National Powersports. As we catered to a customer base that couldn't physically see the bikes they were purchasing, we developed an extremely detailed system of checks, services, and detailing to ensure transparency about the exact condition of each vehicle. This thorough approach became our hallmark and led to an expansion into all types and years of motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, scooters, and watercraft.
Although we initially focused on vintage bikes, we soon began receiving requests for modern bikes from around the world. Our customers appreciated the level of information we provided, which went beyond the industry standard even in traditional dealerships. As our online sales grew, we knew we had to replicate the experience in person. We expanded our facilities several times, ultimately settling in a 55,000 square foot location in Pembroke, NH.
At National Powersports, we've maintained a unique approach to sales that sets us apart from traditional dealerships. We don't operate on commission, and our stores are designed to replicate the online buying experience. Out prices are bottom-line from the start, and are competitive due to a smaller margin and higher inventory turnover. We provide comprehensive servicing, detailing, and warranties to ensure customer satisfaction.
Our success is rooted in a commitment to honesty and integrity, which we prioritize above all else. We've received numerous awards and recognition for our business, but what matters most to us is the satisfaction of our customers. For us, it's not just about making money, but about building a company that our customers can trust and rely on for quality vehicles and exceptional service.Nate Sanel - Owner, National Powersports
I’m often asked the question “How did you build such a big company so quickly?” Without hesitation, I tell them the secret of our success is our employees. Exceptional business’ start with exceptional people. Our employees are hired not only by their skillset, but also their ability to connect with and serve other people. We work hard to attract people who whom already believe in the company philosophy of “tell the truth”. Our hiring process is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, and the result is one of the best crews you will ever encounter in the motorcycle business.Nate Sanel - Owner, National Powersports
Our process begins with an evaluation of the vehicle and a review of any known history.
Once on the mechanic’s bench we perform any needed repairs, a full service, and a NH State inspection. Then the bike is taken for a test ride to confirm it’s running condition.
Our rigorous detailing process brings out the best in every bike. People often confuse our used bikes for new ones!
We want you to know everything about the bike before you buy! That’s why we provide great photos, a high definition video, and thorough reports.
